LOTRO Store Points Grinding Guide
Update 25.4, March 2020

By Alun Hancock

This guide is intended for players looking to start a new Alternate character that is used exclusively to grind Store Points.

It assumes you do not own any Quest Packs, as by the time you grind any additional points in these higher-level areas you are either going to keep the character, or it is quicker to simply delete the Alternate and start a new one.

I recommend starting a Dwarf / Elf Minstrel and working your way from Ered Luin in the West over to Bree in the East.
The Minstrel has a good instant attack skill with long-range and high damage at a very early level that makes them excellent at fast combat.

The most favored speed-run methods do Exploration and Slayer deeds only, skipping the quest and reputation options.
This can leave characters without decent equipment and possibly low level for the later Bree deeds, but can be done much faster.

Don't forget that you can Fast-Travel between the hubs of Thorin's Hall, Celondim, Michel Delving and West Bree Gate.

Before deleting an exhausted character, remember to sell of their equipment and buy Vault-keeper "Bag of Coins" for your shared storage.

Basic Meta Deeds (20+ points)

Cartographile - Eriador = 10 pts (maps can be stored in a House Chest or Shared Vault)
Cartographile - Moria = 10 pts (maps can be stored in a House Chest or Shared Vault)
Task Board = +5 pts per 100 tasks (20 days, but grants a +1 Task Limit token bound to account)

The Cartographile meta deeds only require that you hold the map housing cosmetics in your pack.
Once you have held them you can then return the maps back into your shared storage for use on other accounts.

While it takes 20 days to complete the 1st level of Task Board deed, if you have the spare Character slots you might want to grind the reputation gained from tasks and earn the "+1 Task Limit" token to pass onto your Main characters.

Ered Luin Deeds
(180 points)

Exploration... (20)
   Elf Ruins Exploration = 5 pts
   Place of the Dwarves = 5 pts
   Scouting the Dourhands = 5 pts
   Rath Teraig Exploration = 5 pts

Slayer... (75)
   Wolves = 15 pts
   Goblins = 15 pts
   Hendrovals = 15 pts
   Brigands (Dourhands) = 15 pts
   Spiders = 15 pts

Quest Deeds...(35)
   Ally of Ered Luin = 10 pts
   Defender of Ered Luin = 10 pts
   Hero of Ered Luin = 15 pts

Thorin's Hall Reputation Deeds...(50)
   Known = 5 pts
   Friend = 10 pts
   Ally = 15 pts
   Kindred = 20 pts

All of the slayer deeds have lairs for each monster.
Hendrovals can get busy around Thrasi's Lodge so consider combining this with Kheledul missions.

Thorin's reputation can eventually be maxed via the Task Board, but is only worth maxing while working towards a "+1 Task Limit" token.
Thorin's reputation items require lvl 35, which is beyond a temporary characters expectations.

The Shire Deeds (200 points)

Exploration... (10)
   Farms of the Shire = 5 pts
   Sights of the Shire = 5 pts

Slayer... (90)
   Slugs = 15 pts
   Wolves = 15 pts
   Spiders = 15 pts
   Brigands = 15 pts
   Harvest-flies = 15 pts
   Goblins = 15 pts

Quest Deeds... (50)
   Life of a Bounder = 10 pts
   Life of a Bounder (Advanced) = 10 pts
   Life of a Bounder (Final) = 15 pts
   No place for spoiled pies = 5 pts
   Restoring the quick post = 5 pts
   Shire Brew-master = 5 pts

Mathom Society Reputation Deeds... (50)
   Known = 5 pts
   Friend = 10 pts
   Ally = 15 pts
   Kindred = 20 pts

All of the slayer deeds have lairs or areas dedicated to each creature.
Slugs can be slow as they are dispersed around the swamp.

The Pie and Post runs are very time consuming for a low reward of only 5 point each, but contribute to the Bounder deed.

Mathom reputation items can be used at lvl 20, which is borderline for a temporary character.

Bree - The Old Forest Deeds (15 points)

Exploration... (15)
   The Old Forest = 5 pts
   Flowers of the Old Forest = 10 pts

Slayer... (points in the overall Bree deed)...
   Spiders
   Woodsman Trees

If you have a good map of the locations, it doesn't take long to run through the forest to complete the exploration deeds.

Spiders have a lair along the south end of the map, but Archet might be an easier choise.
Trees csn be found clustered in the North East.

Bree - Barrow-Dows Deeds (70 points)

Exploration... (15)
   The Barrow Downs = 5 pts
   Lore of the Cardolan Prince = 10 pts

Slayer (points in the overall Bree deed)...
   Barghest
   Wights
   Spiders
   Woodsman Trees

Slayer (Barrows specific)... (55)
   Executioner of the Wicked = 10 pts
   Brood Hunter = 15 pts
   Grave-digger = 15 pts
   Nemesis of the fallen = 15 pts

Try to get a small group together to quickly run through the slayer deeds as these need to be done in the dungeons.

Bree-Land (220 points)

Exploration... (15)
   Ruins of Beleriand = 5 pts
   History of the Dunedain = 10 pts

Slayer... (120)
   Brigands = 15 pts
   Spiders = 15 pts
   Neeker-breekers = 15 pts
   Sickle-flies = 15 pts
   Orcs = 15 pts
   Woodsman Trees = 15 pts
   Barghest = 15 pts
   Wights = 15 pts

Quest Deeds... (35)
   Bree-land Adventurer = 10 pts
   Bree-land Adventurer (Advanced) = 10 pts
   Bree-land Adventurer (Final) = 15 pts

Bree-land Reputation Deeds... (50)
   Known = 5 pts
   Friend = 10 pts
   Ally = 15 pts
   Kindred = 20 pts

Neeker-breekers and Sickle-flies can be found in the Midgewater Marsh but are widely spread out. Consider using a free deed accelerator.
All other creatures have fairly good lairs around the map.

Bree reputation items can be used at lvl 20, but there are so many Bree quests you should easily reach Kindred.
Reputation items can be easily grinded at the Barrows.

Lone-Lands (230 points)

Exploration... (25)
   Weathertop Exploration = 5 pts
   Defences of the Lone-lands = 5 pts
   *The Grimfens = 5 pts
   *Garth Agarwen = 10 pts

Slayer... (120)
   Goblins = 15 pts
   Orcs = 15 pts
   Warg = 15< ptsBR>    Crabans = 15 pts
   Spiders = 15 pts
   Bog-lurkers = 15 pts
   Wights = 15 pts
   Trolls = 15 pts

Quest Deeds... (35)
   Tales of the lonely road = 10 pts
   Tales of the lonely road (Advanced) = 10 pts
   Tales of the lonely road (Final) = 15 pts

Eglain Reputation Deeds... (50)
   Known = 5 pts
   Friend = 10 pts
   Ally = 15 pts
   Kindred = 20 pts

By the time you get to the lone-lands you may want to consider deleting the temporary character and starting again, as points slow down here.
The first two explorer deeds can be done easily, but Garth Agarwen and Grimfens require higher levels to complete.

Most creatures have lairs, but Bog-lurkers are hidden and spread out.
Wights are tough for a temporary character and Trolls are high level and will require a group to complete.

Eglain reputation increases slowly by defeating most creatures. There are also Crafting quests to build tradeable items for reputation.
